Is cephalexin an antiviral drug?

Cephalosporins are anti-inflammatory, or anti-inflammatory, drugs that have no significant and definite efficacy against viruses. Cephalosporins belong to the beta-lactam class of drugs. Beta-lactams have definite efficacy against anti-inflammatory and bacterial infections, especially for respiratory tract infections, digestive system infections, genitourinary system infections, and skin infections caused by gram-positive cocci, gram-negative bacilli, atypical pathogens or anaerobic bacteria. However, its effect on viruses is not very clear, so cephalosporins are limited to bacterial therapy. Antiviral treatment with drugs such as Oscarvir, ribavirin and ganciclovir is recommended if the patient has a co-infection with a virus.
