There are various types of whiplash. Different types of cervical spondylosis have different hazards. For example, sympathetic cervical spondylosis can lead to dizziness and headache, spinal cord cervical spondylosis can lead to upper and lower limb dysfunction, vertebral artery cervical spondylosis can lead to episodes of vertigo, and nerve root cervical spondylosis can lead to cervical mobility disorders.
1. Sympathetic cervical spondylosis: It is caused by cervical spondylosis stimulating or pressing the sympathetic nerves, and has many types of symptoms. Patients will experience dizziness and headache, stiff neck, tinnitus and ear blockage, nausea and vomiting. If the sympathetic nerves continue to be compressed, it may lead to sympathetic nerve disorder and symptoms such as tachycardia, precordial pain and severe migraine.
2. Spinal cord cervical spondylosis: It is caused by the compression of the spinal cord by lesions in the cervical spinal canal. It causes numbness, heaviness and sensory impairment in the upper and lower limbs, leading to unsteady gait and difficulty in fine manipulation of the hands. Urinary and fecal dysfunction may also occur.
3. Vertebral artery-type cervical spondylosis: the vertebral artery is compressed by cervical spine degeneration and other factors, resulting in insufficient blood supply to the vertebral basilar artery. Patients will experience symptoms such as episodic vertigo, visual impairment, tinnitus and deafness, nausea and migraine. When vertigo occurs, there may be disorientation and movement disorders, unsteady walking and other symptoms.
4. Neurogenic cervical spondylosis: It is caused by degeneration of cervical vertebrae compressing the nerve roots. Patients may experience limited neck movement and electric shock-like pain radiating from the root of the neck to the shoulder, upper arm, forearm and even fingers, often accompanied by numbness. In addition, patients may also experience tinnitus, dizziness, muscle atrophy and other conditions.
It is recommended that patients with cervical spondylosis go to the hospital in time and be treated under the guidance of the doctor.
