Do the lymph nodes move?

Lymph nodes are not normally palpable and do not move on their own. Superficial lymph node enlargement caused by inflammation and other factors can sometimes be touched and can be moved; lymph node enlargement caused by malignant diseases can be touched but is difficult to move. Lymph nodes are important immune organs of the human body. When inflammation or tumor occurs in the surrounding tissues and organs, lymph nodes may become enlarged, painful and uncomfortable. Lymph nodes that are enlarged due to inflammation or other factors may be mobile on palpation, with obvious tenderness and soft texture, and some of them may have high skin temperature. Malignant lesions, such as lymphoma, lymphoblastic leukemia, lymphatic metastasis of malignant tumors lead to enlarged lymph nodes, which can be found hard on palpation, non-tender and difficult to move.
