Bronchial asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways characterized by airway hyperresponsiveness involving a variety of cells (e.g., eosinophils, mast cells, T-lymphocytes, neutrophils, airway epithelial cells, etc.). Although there are many antiasthmatic and anti-inflammatory drugs that can be used to alleviate the symptoms of asthma, it is still impossible to cure bronchial asthma. After patients with severe asthma are discharged from the hospital with stabilized symptoms, certain preventive and therapeutic measures are needed when they are at home. Adherence to long-term standardized care and treatment can make asthma symptoms get good control, reduce recurrence or even no longer attack. 1. First of all, the home environment where the patient lives should be cleared of allergens, pay attention to environmental cleanliness and hygiene. Dust mites in the living place are the main factor triggering allergies, often found in beds, sofas, bedding and other places. Dust mites grow in an environment with 22~26 degrees Celsius and over 50% humidity. To prevent the growth of dust mites, wash pillowcases, quilts and other bedding regularly and sun screen them in the sun. And seal them after washing with a clean pocket. Try not to use carpets especially in the bedroom, the level of dust mites in the carpet is very high, it is very easy to induce allergies. 2. Moonflowers, lilacs, poinsettias, hydrangeas, geraniums, zinnias, etc., can cause skin allergies and even asthma when touched and caressed. You can replace them with non-allergenic flowers and plants at home. 3. Don’t keep pets if you are allergic to animal secretions, hair, saliva and excreta. 4. Avoid foods with known allergens in your daily diet. For example, milk and eggs contain albumin, which is a very strong allergen for asthma and other allergy patients. Fish and shrimp and other seafood are also prone to allergies, especially reddish-colored fish, which contain more allergens. Some allergens are also present in nuts such as hazelnuts and walnuts. Vegetables and fruits can also cause allergic reactions in some patients, commonly allergic to peaches, pineapples and mangoes. If you are allergic to any of these, you should avoid eating them. 5. For cold air allergy, pay attention to keep warm and the indoor temperature should be appropriate. You can wear a warm mask when you go out in winter and fall. Avoid these triggers that cause asthma attacks. 6. Appropriate exercise and fitness, you can jogging, swimming, do tai chi, yoga, etc., to enhance physical fitness, improve cardiopulmonary function, quit smoking, limit alcohol, do not stay up late, eat a balanced diet. 7. In the usual prevention patients can inhale glucocorticoid aerosol, inhibit the chronic inflammation of the airway, prevent the occurrence of airway hyperresponsive state. For the symptoms of asthma that have already occurred accidentally, patients can then inhale salbutamol aerosol, and also take some oral bronchodilators, such as aminophylline, bolivarconide, etc., and oral leukotriene inhibitors such as montelukast. These measures can control asthma attacks well at home. Pay attention to regular hospital checkups and follow up at any time.
