Indicated 4-year-olds can take Scutellariae Chinensis Granules under the doctor’s discerning guidance. Scutellariae Chinensis Granules is a proprietary Chinese medicine composed of Sinapis, Scutellariae Radix, Cangzhi, Angelica dahurica, Arabidopsis thunbergii, Fenghuang Feng, Calamus calamus, Atractylodes macrocephala, Cinnamon twig and Astragalus membranaceus. The drug has the effects of benefiting qi and consolidating the surface, dispelling wind and opening the orifices (opening the orifices of the nose by dispelling wind evil). This product is used for treating nasal itching, sneezing, running nose and easy to catch a cold caused by deficiency of lung qi and external attack of wind evil. This product should be taken after meals, such as occasional stomach pain with discomfort caution. Children and the elderly should be cautious, pregnant women, infants and young children with renal insufficiency is prohibited. The adverse reactions and contraindications of this drug are not clear. Parents are advised to give 4-year-old children under the guidance of a physician to take Scutellaria granules, not to self-medication or unauthorized changes in the dosage, in order to avoid adverse reactions.
