The Department of Thyroid and Breast Surgery focuses on the treatment of diseases of the thyroid and breast, especially in tertiary care hospitals where the disciplines have been refined to include the thyroid and breast in the same department. There are many diseases, including inflammatory diseases of the thyroid gland, occupying lesions in the thyroid gland, and breast tumors or breast infections. Both the thyroid and breast are target organs of the endocrine glands and are prone to many diseases that are regulated by hormone levels in the body, many of which can be diagnosed by local color ultrasound and, if necessary, in combination with nuclear scans. Some patients require surgical treatment, including benign occupying lesions of the thyroid, simple malignant tumors of the thyroid, and malignant tumors of the breast.
