Can you eat tofu with appendicitis?

Whether or not appendicitis can eat tofu depends on whether or not the patient with appendicitis has undergone surgery, the severity of the abdominal infection, and whether or not the gastrointestinal function has recovered, and other factors for objective analysis. If a patient with appendicitis has a mild degree of inflammation and is not undergoing surgery and is treated with conservative anti-infection therapy, the patient’s abdominal infection is completely absorbed and gastrointestinal function is completely restored, the patient can eat a small amount of tofu at this time and it will not cause abdominal pain and bloating. Second, if the patient’s appendix is heavily infected, accompanied by acute suppurative appendicitis, there is still more inflammatory infection in the abdominal cavity after appendectomy, and the patient’s gastrointestinal function has not fully recovered. Since tofu is a gas-producing food, eating more tofu will cause abdominal pain and bloating, which will aggravate the burden on the gastrointestinal tract and is not conducive to a faster recovery. Therefore, it is not recommended for patients to eat tofu in this case, and it is safer to eat tofu after the patient’s gastrointestinal function has fully recovered.
