Minimally invasive appendicitis surgery can eat meat in a few days

How long can you eat meat after appendicitis surgery is related to the patient’s age, physical quality, surgical method and other factors, and there are individual differences, so it cannot be generalized. At present, minimally invasive surgery is mostly used to treat appendicitis. If the patient is less infected and younger, the gastrointestinal function generally recovers faster after surgery, and a small amount of liquid food can be eaten 1-2 days after surgery, and the patient can resume a normal diet with soft meat 7 days after surgery. If the infection of the appendix is more serious, such as septic perforation, diffuse peritonitis, the recovery of gastrointestinal function is usually slow, and anti-infection treatment should be carried out for a longer period of time, and it is necessary to decide whether to eat according to the recovery of intestinal peristalsis. Usually a small amount of liquid food can be gradually introduced only after 3-5 days, and most patients need 8-10 days for gastrointestinal function to gradually recover, after which meat can be eaten. Therefore, patients should eat according to their specific condition and should not eat too early to avoid the occurrence of abdominal distension, which may affect their recovery.
