What’s the difference between pregnancy nausea and gastrointestinal nausea

Nausea during pregnancy and gastrointestinal nausea have different symptoms and different laboratory test results. When people have nausea and vomiting due to stomach diseases (such as gastric ulcer, gastritis, etc.), they should go to the hospital in time for further examination, to clarify the cause of the disease and to treat the cause.
1. Symptoms are different: Vomiting due to pregnancy usually occurs in the morning on an empty stomach and occurs during the fourth to sixth week of pregnancy, often accompanied by fatigue, drowsiness, and so on. Vomiting due to stomach problems is accompanied by other symptoms such as bloating and abdominal pain.
2. Different test results: human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in the blood is elevated during pregnancy, and electrolytes in the body are generally not disturbed. When people suffer from stomach problems, the hCG level does not change, but may be accompanied by electrolyte disorders, and when there is a bacterial infection, the blood routine will show an increase in white blood cells and other signs.
Vomiting due to pregnancy is relieved in the second trimester. Nausea and vomiting due to stomach problems should be treated with medication (e.g., omeprazole, mosapride) and, if necessary, surgery (e.g., partial gastrectomy) under the supervision of a doctor.
