If vaginal bleeding occurs with speculum examination, the vast majority of bleeding will stop in 3-5 days. This is a clinically significant condition and can be referred to as contact bleeding. Contact bleeding is commonly caused by the following clinical reasons: First, it is caused by cervical cancer. In early stage of cervical cancer, contact bleeding may occur during gynecological examination or intercourse. The second cause of bleeding is local chronic inflammation of the cervix, such as polyps, or when the local mucosa of the cervix is congested and edematous, and the tissue is relatively brittle, contact with a speculum will cause bleeding, which is recommended to be treated clinically not only by surgery but also by medicine.
