There is no treatment to completely eradicate glaucoma, but it can be controlled by medication, surgery and laser. Glaucoma is a group of diseases with characteristic optic nerve atrophy and visual field defects as common features, with a certain genetic tendency, and pathologically increased intraocular pressure is its main risk factor. 1. Drugs: Intraocular pressure-lowering drugs can be chosen, such as pupil shrinking agents, carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, prostaglandin derivatives, etc. The commonly used ones are Trichostatin Eye Drops, Latanoprost Eye Drops, Acetazolamide Eye Drops and so on. The drugs should be used according to the doctor’s prescription. 2. Surgery: Commonly used surgical methods are filtering surgery, including trabeculectomy, implantation of atrial fluid drainage device and non-penetrating trabeculectomy. Others include atrial angulotomy and trabeculectomy. 3. Laser: commonly used treatments include laser peripheral iridectomy, laser peripheral iridoplasty, selective laser trabeculoplasty, ciliary body photocoagulation and so on. Patients with glaucoma should go to the hospital in time, follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment, and should not use medication privately.
