When a baby is born, there are usually no teeth in the mouth. The eruption of the first milk tooth is usually around six months after birth. A small number of children have teeth in their mouths at birth, a condition that is a developmental malformation and refers to such teeth as birth teeth. Birth teeth are milk teeth that erupt prematurely and are, by nature, milk teeth. Since such a milk tooth is located under the gums and is superficially located, it is possible for a tooth to appear in the mouth at birth. This kind of tooth is very loose because the roots are not developed, and it is easy to fall off naturally. Since the child is relatively small, there is a risk of accidental aspiration and swallowing, so for the birth tooth that is loose and obvious, it needs to be removed to avoid accidental aspiration and swallowing. Another thing is that when the baby is born, there will be small white dots above the mucous membrane on top of the gums, which are hard to the touch, sometimes scattered distribution, and there may be several fused together, called horse teeth, i.e. epithelial beads. They do not affect the child and do not cause pain, and do not need to be treated.
