What is the 2-hour postprandial blood sugar? Do you know?

Postprandial blood glucose is a great concern in clinical work or for patients. for patients with diabetes, the diagnosis refers to both fasting blood glucose and postprandial blood glucose, and the normal value of 2-hour postprandial blood glucose is 7.8 mmol/L. for patients with diabetes, it is usually hoped that fasting blood glucose is controlled at around 6 mmol/L, 7 mmol/L, and postprandial blood glucose is controlled at around 7-8 mmol/L. But specific to each patient’s situation, the blood sugar situation varies with different age and different combined diseases. If the patient is older, combined with cardiovascular disease, the risk of hypoglycemia is higher, then not only should the fasting blood sugar standard be relaxed, but also the postprandial blood sugar control can be about 10mmol/L. In case of gestational diabetes or diabetes combined with pregnancy, the blood sugar needs to be controlled more strictly, and the 2-hour postprandial blood sugar needs to be controlled at about 6.7mmol/L. Therefore, postprandial blood glucose is a common clinical indicator with different target values for different people.
