Also known as human papillomavirus or HPV, papillomavirus is categorized into two types of viruses: low-risk and high-risk. Low-risk types are more commonly found in women who are infected with subtypes 6 and 11, often manifesting as female genital warts, while high-risk types of the virus often infect the cervix. HPV infection in women can be relieved by strengthening the body’s resistance and changing poor hygiene and dietary habits. In the case of warts on the vulva, surgery such as microwave or Lipo knife should be given to remove the warts, and topical antiviral medication should be applied after the surgery. If the cervix is persistently infected with HPV, topical anti-viral medication should be given, and cervical surgery can be performed if necessary to prevent malignant changes of the cervix.
