China’s CDC released the monitoring of adverse reactions to vaccination with the new crown vaccine on May 28, reporting 31,434 cases of adverse reactions to vaccination, with a reported incidence of 11.86/100,000 doses. Among them, general reactions, also known as common adverse reactions, accounted for 83%, with a reported incidence of 9.84/100,000 doses. Compared with other types of vaccines in China in 2019, general reactions to the neo-crown virus vaccine are below the average reported level. Common adverse reactions after vaccination with the new coronavirus vaccine mainly manifest as redness, swelling, hard nodules and pain at the vaccination site, but also clinical manifestations such as fever, malaise, nausea, headache and muscle aches, etc. However, such adverse reactions are generally transient and mild organismal reactions, which usually do not require treatment and can be treated by paying attention to proper diet adjustment, avoiding overexertion, alcohol abuse and overeating. It should be noted that the severity and symptoms of adverse reactions vary from person to person and are unavoidable, mainly due to the biological characteristics of the vaccine that may cause adverse reactions in a small number of recipients after vaccination, while inducing the immune system to produce protection against specific diseases. A small number of people may hesitate to receive the vaccine because they are concerned about adverse reactions, but in fact, any vaccination may have some adverse reactions, and current data show that the rate of adverse reactions to the new coronavirus vaccine is lower than that of other vaccines, so there is no need to worry too much about adverse reactions. Secondly, only when all people have certain antibodies can the spread of the epidemic be contained to the greatest extent. Wenhong Zhang said, “We in China may endure the spread of the disease again in the future if the vaccination is not in place; if we in China do not vaccinate fast enough, then our population infection rate will increase in the future.” So as soon as you are eligible for vaccination, it is recommended that you get it as soon as possible.
