Which items are reviewed for pacemakers

The pacemaker requires a physical examination, chest X-ray, cardiac function test, and pacemaker programmed control test.
1. Physical examination: The main purpose of the physical examination after implantation of the pacemaker is to observe the recovery of the incision and whether there is any infection. Cardiac auscultation is also performed.
2. Chest X-ray: After the physical examination, the patient needs to have a chest X-ray to find out whether the pacemaker is in a normal position, so as to facilitate further cardiac function tests.
3. Cardiac function tests: General electrocardiography can be performed to understand the control of the patient’s heart rate and rhythm, and echocardiography can be performed to understand the structural and functional changes of the heart.
4. Pacemaker programmed examination: To retrieve changes in cardiac electrical activity recorded by previous pacemakers, such as changes in heart rate, to understand the pacing function of the pacemaker, and whether the patient has experienced defibrillation of the pacemaker or abnormal arrhythmic events during the implantation period.
After a pacemaker has been installed, it is important to follow your doctor’s instructions for regular reviews to avoid adverse outcomes.
