How long it takes for a child to be discharged from the hospital after circumcision should be determined on a case-by-case basis. If local anesthesia was administered, hospitalization is usually not required after the procedure. If general anesthesia was administered, the child may need to be hospitalized after the procedure and may be discharged after about 24 hours of observation.
Under normal circumstances, circumcision is a minor surgery. If the child cooperates actively during the surgery, only local anesthesia may be needed, and the child does not need to stay in the hospital for observation, and can go home on the same day if there are no post-operative complications.
If the child is younger, afraid of surgery, and does not cooperate during the operation, general anesthesia may be needed, and the child will need to be hospitalized for observation after the operation. Usually, the child will need to be observed for about 24 hours, and can be discharged from the hospital to go home to recuperate and rest if there are no abnormalities.
After the operation, parents should do a good job of daily care, and more to reassure the child, do not let the child have a psychological shadow.
