What are the precautions for drinking Chinese medicine

During the process of taking herbal medicine, the patient’s diet is recommended according to each person’s constitution. For example, a patient with Yin deficiency will be advised not to eat spicy things when taking herbal medicine. If the patient is on the side of spleen deficiency, the patient will be advised not to eat raw, cold, sticky and stagnant foods. If the patient is identified as having Yang deficiency, it may be recommended to eat less cold foods, such as mung beans, in the usual diet. If the patient is identified as having a weak qi and blood constitution, the patient will be advised not to eat qi-breaking foods such as radish during the course of taking herbal medicine. If it is a tonic herb, it is usually taken before meals. If it is a qi-movement and blood-activating one, with some passages and drainage, it is usually eaten half an hour after meals.
