A small but stable meniscal tear suture is followed by a hinged brace and immediate initiation of 0-90 degrees of flexion and extension exercises. Partial weight-bearing of the affected limb was allowed to begin immediately after surgery, and the brace was removed at 6 weeks, allowing full weight-bearing of the affected limb. No physical activity is allowed for 3 months postoperatively. Larger meniscal tears should have the hinged brace locked in the 0 degree position for 3-4 weeks, allowing only the affected limb to touch the ground. The 0-90 degree joint flexion and extension exercises should be started at 4 weeks postoperatively. The brace should be removed 6 weeks after surgery and the affected limb should be allowed to bear 50% of the weight, and the crutches should be abandoned 8 weeks after surgery and the affected limb should be fully weight-bearing.
