Early rehabilitation after meniscus suturing

  Rehabilitation training principles: painless, ice, slow-motion muscle training: 1.Swing the back of the foot up and down, contract the calf muscles (ankle pump) 2.Tighten the thigh muscles when the knee joint is straightened, for 5~10 seconds.  3.Straight leg raise, 30~50 degrees, for 5~10 seconds.  Mobility training: 1, within 1 week: can fully straighten 0° 2, heel sliding: (1) within 0-4 weeks: less than 45° (2) within 4-6 weeks: 90~120° 3, move patella (inner, upper, lower) Weight bearing (with double crutches): within 4 weeks: no weight bearing 4-8 weeks: partial weight bearing – walking with full weight bearing, delayed about 2 weeks for obese patients Within 6 weeks: sleep and walk with brace Ice: 1 Within 1 week: every 2-3 hours, about 5~6 times/day, sleep without ice at night After 1 week: depending on the degree of swelling, the number of times can be reduced, about 2~3 times/day Throughout the rehabilitation phase: immediately after each mobility training, ice is applied for 10-15 minutes each time Post-operative follow-up: about two weeks after surgery, surgeon’s outpatient review and removal of stitches.
