Lymphangioleioma can be life-threatening if left untreated, so it needs to be treated. Lymphangioleioma is formed by the proliferation and expansion of lymphatic vessels, which is a benign tumor consisting mainly of lumen arranged by endothelial cells. The recurrence rate is usually not too high with radical surgical removal. However, lymphangioleioma can be harmful to the body. For example, lymphangioleioma of the tongue, if it develops further, it may lead to blockage of the oral cavity, making it impossible to eat or further invading the trachea and mediastinum at the bottom of the mouth, causing obstruction of the respiratory tract and even death. Therefore, lymphangioleioma needs to be detected and treated as early as possible. Of course, if it is a very small lymphangioleioma, there is no major effect. But no one can predict whether it will develop seriously in the future, so it is always good to treat it early.
