The hazards of standing up too early for infants may include deformation of the legs, affecting the spine, flat feet and so on.
1. Leg deformation: the lower limb bones of infants are not yet mature, early standing may lead to leg deformation, so that the chances of knee valgus or knee inversion greatly increased.
2. Impact on the spine: the spinal ligaments are insufficient to support the infant’s standing, and premature scoliosis, such as anterior or posterior kyphosis, may occur.
3. Flat feet: Physiological flat feet may occur, and it is easy to form a wrong walking posture or habit of toe-padding when walking in the later stage.
Infants have their own rules of motor development. Parents are advised not to let infants stand too early to avoid adverse effects.
