Bear bile is useful in treating conditions such as heat extremes that give rise to wind (too much accumulation of heat will cause wind), convulsions of eclampsia, and sore throats. It should be noted that hunting and killing of state-protected wild animals is prohibited.
Bear bile belongs to a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, bitter taste, cold nature, to the liver, gallbladder, heart and stomach meridian, has the effect of clearing heat, brightening the eyes, antispasmodic, clinically there is a treatment of extreme heat and wind, convulsions of eclampsia, sore throat, pediatric eclampsia, children’s chancre (a kind of children’s chronic disease, manifested as emaciation, dietary anomalies, bloating, sparse hair yellow, etc.), hemorrhoids and other diseases.
The adverse reactions and contraindications of bear bile are not clear. Patients taking bear bile should be taken in accordance with medical advice, if taken with other herbs at the same time, need to be under the guidance of a professional physician, not self-medication, in order to avoid adverse reactions.
