There are two main types of hard bumps under the ear: one is commonly found under the ear, which is a sebaceous adenoma under the earlobe. Sebaceous adenomas generally become round and oval protrusions, and the surface usually has no special symptoms if there is no secondary infection. If secondary infection occurs, localized pain, redness and swelling can develop, and in severe cases, pus is generated inside. Treatment is mainly when the infection, incision and drainage of pus, anti-infection treatment. If there is no inflammation and no infection, it can be removed surgically. In other cases, there are lymph nodes above the ear, including lymph nodes under the earlobe and submandibular lymph nodes, as well as lymph nodes in the parotid gland, which itself can swell into a hard mass. For these areas it is important to first examine to determine what the lesion is, whether it is a lymph node or parotid gland. Check if the lymph nodes are enlarged to see if they are inflammatory or metastatic lymph node enlargement of other tumors, which requires a series of examinations such as ultrasound, CT, etc., and according to the results of the examination, diagnosis and treatment will be given accordingly.
