Viral hepatitis poses a serious threat to human health and imposes a heavy economic and social burden on countries around the world. Therefore, World Hepatitis Day is celebrated on May 19 every year, initiated by the World Hepatitis Alliance. “During World Hepatitis Day, a series of educational activities are conducted worldwide to raise public awareness and awareness of viral hepatitis. The theme of the 2010 event is “Eliminate Hepatitis Discrimination, Build a Harmonious Home”, which aims to implement the scientific concept of development, further arouse the attention of the whole society to the prevention and treatment of hepatitis, increase public awareness and participation in hepatitis prevention, treatment, support and popularization of education, and promote close collaboration among all sectors of society in an effort to reduce the incidence and effectiveness of prevention and control of hepatitis in China. Chronic hepatitis B virus infection is the most important cause of primary liver cancer and cirrhosis, and in 2007, Health Minister Chen Zhu said, “China will throw its hat into the Pacific Ocean as a major hepatitis B country. Yet the pressure on the prevention and treatment of hepatitis B remains high. Guangxi is a high prevalence area of hepatitis B. In order to increase people’s understanding of chronic liver disease in our city and grasp how to properly prevent chronic liver disease infection in daily life, the Department of Hepatobiliary Medicine of Ruikang Hospital attached to Guangxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine held an annual scientific popularization activity for the prevention and treatment of chronic liver disease. From May 19 to 22, the Department of Hepatobiliary Medicine of Rui Hong Hospital of Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medicine held the annual scientific popularization activity of chronic liver disease prevention and treatment. On May 22nd, we held a seminar on “Self-management of Hepatitis B Infection” and “Chronic Hepatitis B Frequently Asked Questions and Answers” in the academic lecture hall. During the whole activity, more than forty patients attended the activity. During the education process, through questions and answers, distribution of brochures and gifts to patients, many patients said they learned a lot of knowledge about hepatitis B prevention and treatment that they wanted to learn but did not know how to get, such as the transmission route of hepatitis B, how to prevent hepatitis B by family, friends and partners, and how to treat chronic hepatitis B correctly. Director Sheng Qingshou of the Department of Hepatobiliary Medicine said that since it was the first time to organize hepatitis patient education activities, he was worried that there were too few patients at first, but it turned out that so many patients came to participate in the activities, so he was really touched. The purpose is to let more hepatitis B patients understand hepatitis B, prevent and treat hepatitis B together, fight a real war against hepatitis B, and really solve the pain of hepatitis B and improve the quality of life by combining Chinese and Western medicine with scientific methods.
