The formal name for a 24-hour EEG is a 24-hour ambulatory EEG. This is one of the types of EEG exams that charge around$500-$550. Unlike ordinary EEG, 24-hour dynamic EEG has a longer monitoring time and does not require the patient to be with the machine at the hospital all the time, but to make an appointment first and then take the machine back home, during which time the patient can study, work and live normally without doing anything special. 24 hours later, the patient returns to the hospital and the EEG machine is taken down with the help of the doctor, who perform a reading of the map. This type of EEG has a high positive detection rate for epileptic waves and helps to help identify epilepsy and some other specific disorders.
