It can be used for deficiency of lung yin, dry cough with little phlegm, deficiency of stomach yin (insufficient yin fluid in the stomach), lack of food and hunger, dry vomiting, deficiency of qi yin, vexation and heat (irritability and sultriness), dry throat and mouth. Sha Shen should not be used in conjunction with Veratrum. The adverse reactions and contraindications of this product are not clear.
Ophiopogon is slightly cold in nature, slightly bitter and sweet in taste, and belongs to the lung, heart and stomach meridians. It has the efficacy of nourishing yin and generating fluids, moisturizing the lung, nourishing the yin of the heart and clearing the fire of the heart. It can be used for lung dryness and dry cough, sore throat, stomach yin deficiency, dry mouth and tongue, heartburn and insomnia. The adverse reactions and contraindications of Maitake are not clear.
Lycium barbarum is flat in nature, sweet in flavor, and belongs to kidney and liver meridians. It has the effect of tonifying the liver and kidney, benefiting the essence and brightening the eyes, and is suitable for Yin deficiency of liver and kidney, darkness and uncertainty of the eyes, dryness of the eyes, kidney deficiency and lumbago, impotence and infertility, blood deficiency and atrophy. The contraindications and adverse reactions of Lycium barbarum are not clear.
The usage of Radix Panax Ginseng, Maitake and Fructus Lycii are all for decoction, the effective dose of simple infusion is limited, and generally cannot achieve a better therapeutic effect.
