How long to return to normal after varicocele surgery

It takes about 1~2 weeks for the varicocele to return to normal after surgery, but the possibility of recurrence is not ruled out and regular rechecks are still needed. Primary varicocele is mostly seen in young adults, mainly due to the abnormal elongation, expansion, and tortuosity of the vein trailing vein plexus in the spermatic cord, which can be accompanied by scrotal distension, hidden pain, and swelling sensation in severe cases. Varicocele surgery is mainly suitable for severe varicose veins with sperm abnormality, and adolescent varicocele with reduced testicular volume. Generally, it can be recovered in 1~2 weeks after the operation, and thereafter it needs to be rechecked every 3 months. Usually, there may be complications in 1~2 weeks after the operation, as well as postoperative recurrence, etc. If symptoms appear, it should be re-treated in time.
