What causes redness in the skin around a child’s eyes

Redness of the skin around the eyes of children may be caused by eye allergies, eye infections, eye trauma and so on.
When allergic children are exposed to allergens such as pollen and willow flakes, they may experience redness and swelling of the eyelids, itching of the eyes, and other uncomfortable symptoms.
If the child frequently rubs his eyes with dirty hands, it leads to infection of eye tissues by pathogens such as Haemophilus, Staphylococcus, and Diplococcus pneumoniae, such as blepharitis. Under the stimulation of inflammation, children with eye infections may experience redness and swelling of the eyelids, pain, photophobia, tearing and other discomforts.
If the child’s eyes are bumped, squeezed and other ocular trauma, under mechanical stimulation, the child’s eyelids may appear red, swollen, painful and other discomforts, and in severe cases, subconjunctival hemorrhage, eyelid skin bleeding and other discomforts.
It is recommended that patients with significant eyelid redness and swelling seek prompt medical attention to evaluate their condition and follow medical advice.
