Ebastine tablets are long-acting, highly selective antihistamines that mainly act as anti-allergic reactions. It is mostly used clinically to relieve perennial or seasonal allergic rhinitis, which causes nasal congestion, nasal itching and runny nose; it can also be used for pruritic skin lesions such as urticaria, eczema and chronic dermatitis. Since ebastine tablets do not cross the blood-brain barrier, there are no clinically significant side effects of central sedation and drowsiness. It is usually taken orally as 1 tablet once a day for adults, 1 1/2 tablets once a day for children 6-11 years old, 1/4 tablet once a day for children 2-5 years old, and there is no recommended dose for children under 2 years old.
