How to deal with age spots

Age spots, known as seborrheic keratoses, can be left untreated or removed with scraping, freezing or laser therapy. Seborrheic keratoses are benign and slow-growing epidermal tumors that are not contagious and increase with age, and usually do not require treatment if they are asymptomatic or aesthetically disruptive. If it is asymptomatic or aesthetically pleasing, it can be improved in the following ways: 1. Scraping: the skin lesions are anesthetized with lidocaine and then gently scraped with a surgical blade, the advantage of which is that it is less destructive to the skin lesion tissue, and can be sent to the pathology examination to clarify the nature of the lesion after the operation. 2. Freezing therapy: it is suitable for flat or thin lesions, and should be noted that it should only be used when the clinical diagnosis is not in doubt. 3. Laser therapy: including carbon dioxide (CO2) laser, erbium yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) laser and 532nm diode laser. The operation is very precise and time-consuming, and the postoperative appearance is more ideal, which is the more commonly used means of treatment at present. It is recommended to go to the dermatology department of regular hospitals and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
