The 6-minute walk test is a widely used clinical test to assess the severity of heart failure and the efficacy of treatment. It is relatively safe, convenient, and easy to perform. Patients are advised to walk all the way down a flat corridor to determine the approximate distance walked in 6 minutes, which is divided into three main levels: severe, moderate and mild. If the patient walks a distance of less than 150 meters, he or she is currently in severe heart failure. If the walking distance is 150-450 meters, the patient is considered to have moderate heart failure. If the patient’s walking distance is greater than 450 meters, consider the patient to be currently in mild heart failure. It is important to note that it is best to combine this with cardiac ultrasound results.
