Allergic rhinitis, also known as allergic rhinitis, is a disease caused by inhalation of external allergic antigens, with nasal itching, sneezing and runny nose as the main symptoms. The onset of the disease is seasonal or perennial due to the seasonal increase or decrease or persistence of allergens. As with inhalational asthma, patients often have significant genetic allergies and may experience itching of the conjunctiva, palate and external auditory canal during disease episodes. The four main symptoms of allergic rhinitis are: nasal congestion, itching, runny nose, and sneezing. The causes of allergic rhinitis – as far as possible to avoid contact 1, inhalation allergens: such as indoor and outdoor dust, dust mites, fungi, animal fur, feathers, cotton wool, etc., caused by perennial attacks; plant pollen caused by the seasonal attacks. 2, food allergens: such as fish and shrimp, eggs, milk, flour, peanuts, soybeans, etc.. In particular, certain drugs, such as sulfonamides, quinine, antibiotics, etc. can cause the disease. 3.Contacts such as cosmetics, gasoline, paint, alcohol, etc. Allergic rhinitis treatment The World Health Organization recommends the best treatment plan for allergic diseases: symptomatic treatment + allopathic treatment. 1.Symptomatic treatment: refers to treatment with traditional control methods, such as nasal steroids, antihistamines, and inflammatory drugs. 2. Allopathic treatment: depending on the cause of the disease, what kind of allergen is causing it, treatment by desensitization is used. What is sublingual desensitization therapy? Sublingual desensitization therapy is a new treatment for allergic rhinitis and asthma advocated by the World Health Organization in recent years. This therapy is to let the patient start with a low dose of sublingual desensitization preparations, and gradually increase the dose to reach a maintenance amount and then continue for a sufficient course of treatment, in order to regulate the body’s immune system to produce tolerance to allergens, so that when the patient is exposed to allergens again, no longer produce allergic symptoms or allergic symptoms are significantly reduced, to achieve the purpose of treatment. The course of sublingual desensitization is 2 years, and it is recommended to adhere to it for 3-5 years.
