In medicine, esophageal space occupation mostly refers to esophageal cancer, esophageal polyps, etc. occupying the cavity area of the esophagus, causing obstacles to food passage. The esophagus belongs to the cavity organ, when there is foreign body proliferation in the esophagus, the wall is narrowed, the lumen is thickened, the food passage is impaired, the esophageal tumors, esophageal polyps, neoplastic organisms and so on take up the original cavity position of the esophagus, which is called esophageal occupancy. Generally, when patients have esophageal space occupation, they should complete gastroscopy as soon as possible, and through gastroscopy, take the pathology to clarify the nature of the space occupation site, and then carry out corresponding treatment according to the pathological results. According to current clinical experience, more than 90% of esophageal occupations diagnosed by pathology point to esophageal cancer, while the incidence of benign esophageal lesions such as esophageal polyps is extremely low. When patients develop esophageal occupations, they must be treated as early as possible to avoid delaying the condition.
