Sleep-type epilepsy, as the name suggests, is epilepsy that occurs during sleep. Sleep is an important activator of clinical seizures and abnormal discharges. Any clinical seizure can occur during sleep. Studies have shown that approximately 25% to 30% of seizures occur primarily during sleep, and this type of epilepsy is commonly referred to as sleep-type epilepsy. Here are a few different types of epilepsy: 1. Partial epilepsy Partial epilepsy is a convulsive seizure of a localized muscle or limb of the body, among other symptoms of epilepsy. The duration may be long, usually without loss of consciousness, and the muscles at the site of the convulsion may be temporarily paralyzed after a severe seizure. 2, epileptic generalized seizures epileptic generalized seizures, also known as grand mal seizures, generalized seizures, half of the patients have aura, such as dizziness, confusion, epigastric discomfort, visual, auditory and olfactory disorders. During the seizure, some patients first let out a sharp cry, then both loss of consciousness and fall, with generalized muscle tonus, respiratory pause, head and eyes can be tilted to the side, a few seconds later there is a clonic convulsion, convulsions gradually aggravated, lasted for tens of seconds, clonic respiration resumed, foaming at the mouth. 3.Vegetative Neurologic Epilepsy During vegetative neurologic epilepsy, there are mild and severe disorders of consciousness, and there may be drowsiness after the seizure. The seizure lasts from several minutes to several hours, or even 1-2 days, and the frequency of the seizure is variable, and it may be manifested as symptoms of epilepsy, such as abdominal pain or vomiting and headache symptoms. 4, psychomotor epilepsy Psychomotor epilepsy, as a common form of epilepsy symptoms of seizures, second only to grand mal seizures. The most common cause is birth injury, some may cause seizures several years or 20-30 years after the injury, the lesion is mostly in the temporal lobe, so it is also called temporal lobe epilepsy, the main symptoms are: impaired consciousness, dyskinesia, language disorders, memory confusion and other symptoms.
