Wasting weight loss is a manifestation of weight loss due to wasting diseases, which can be seen in tuberculosis, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, etc. Many diseases can cause wasting, the most common ones such as diabetes, hyperthyroidism, tumors, etc. The harm that wasting brings to us should not be ignored, there is also the problem caused by high exercise, poor diet and sleep, excessive mental stress, pay attention to check the specific situation. The initial tests needed for consumptive weight loss: 1. General radiography The use of X-rays is mainly to detect lesions in the bones, but they are also quite useful for detecting lesions in the soft tissues. Common examples are chest X-rays, which are used to diagnose lung diseases such as pneumonia, lung cancer or emphysema, and abdominal X-rays, which are used to detect intestinal obstruction, free air (due to visceral perforation) and free fluid. The use of X-rays for diagnosis is controversial in some cases, such as stones (which have little to no blocking effect on X-rays) or kidney stones (which are generally, but not always, visible). 2. Urinary pepsinogen Pepsinogen is secreted by the main cells of the gastric glands and is activated by the action of hydrochloric acid to become pepsin, which has the effect of hydrolyzing proteins. In human gastric juice, pepsin hydrolyzes proteins into peptones, small amounts of amino acids (tyrosine, phenylalanine) and peptides. The pepsinogen produced by human gastric mucosa can be classified into seven types by applying electrophoretic analysis and can be divided immunologically into two groups, pepsinogen 1 to 5 is group I and 6 to 7 is group II. Group I is only found in gastric fundus and gastric body glands, while group II is also found in pyloric gland and duodenal mucosa, in addition to fundus and gastric body glands. Both are present in the blood, but only pepsinogen I is present in the urine, which is activated into urinary (pepsin) under weakly acidic urine conditions.
