What is a papilloma

Papilloma, also known as human papillomavirus or HPV virus, is divided into two types of viruses: low-risk and high-risk. Low-risk types are more common in women who are infected with subtypes 6 and 11, often manifesting as female vulvar condyloma, while high-risk types of the virus often infect the cervix. The HPV infection in women can be relieved by strengthening the body’s resistance and changing poor hygiene and eating habits, most of which can be done on their own. In the case of vulvar warts, surgical excision such as microwave or Philips knife is required, followed by local application of antiviral medication. In case of persistent HPV infection in the cervix, topical antiviral medication should be given and, if necessary, cervical surgery can be performed to prevent cervical malignancy.
