What are the precursors of rectal cancer?

There is no obvious precursor of rectal cancer, but patients with symptoms of rectal irritation, increased frequency of bowel movement and blood in stool should go to the hospital promptly to exclude the occurrence of rectal cancer.
Rectal cancer is a malignant tumor occurring in the mucosa of rectum. Patients with rectal cancer do not have typical symptoms in early stage, and they may have symptoms of rectal irritation, change of stool frequency and other manifestations.
1. Rectal irritation symptoms: rectal cancer will lead to lesions of rectal mucosa, such as localized hyperplasia or ulceration, which will cause stimulation to the rectal lining nerves in rectal area, and the patients may have changes in defecation habit, anal swelling before defecation, incomplete bowel movement, or symptoms like anxiousness and heaviness.
2. Increase in stool frequency: rectal cancer will cause stimulation to the intestinal tract, leading to gastrointestinal tract function disorder, which is clinically manifested as increase in stool frequency.
3. Bloody stool: when tumor is stimulated by stool, it may be broken, so some patients may be accompanied by blood in stool, or mucus in stool.
Patients with abnormal stool frequency or abnormal rectal sensation should go to the hospital in time for relevant examination.
