Advantages of minimally invasive laparoscopic treatment of appendicitis

Laparoscopic appendectomy has the advantages of fewer complications, less injury, shorter hospital stay, and faster recovery than open appendectomy. Laparoscopic appendectomy can improve the diagnosis rate of right lower abdominal emergencies, and the scope of intraoperative examination is broader, so that the operator can better explore the organs in the abdominal and pelvic cavities. Laparoscopic appendectomy has the following advantages: 1. Fast recovery of intestinal function after surgery, most patients can eat normally on the first day after surgery, short hospitalization time, and does not affect work and study. 2.Laparoscopic appendectomy is less traumatic, less painful and faster recovery. Almost no painkillers are needed after surgery, and patients with non-perforated appendicitis can be discharged 2-3 days after surgery and resume normal work and life. 3.Laparoscopic appendectomy has smaller scars on the abdominal wall incision and no need to remove stitches, which is more in line with the need for cosmetic treatment. 4.Laparoscopic appendectomy has clear field exposure, high diagnostic accuracy, and can comprehensively explore the abdominal cavity and pelvis, which can provide more reliable diagnostic methods for patients with right lower abdominal pain of unknown diagnosis, especially for young female patients. 5. The incidence of postoperative complications after laparoscopic appendectomy is low, and the incidence of incisional infection, intestinal adhesions and abdominal abscesses are significantly lower than that of traditional surgery.
