Recovery of clubfoot

The recovery method for clubfoot, also known as “clubfoot”, varies depending on the age of the patient and the specific treatment, and mainly includes conservative treatment and surgery. 1. Conservative treatment: generally applicable to infants under 3 to 7 months of age, and it is best to start treatment after birth. Pancreatic therapy is now the standard treatment in many countries. The treatment involves sequential manipulation for correction and cast immobilization. After the deformity is completely corrected, orthopedic braces need to be applied to prevent recurrence. 2. Surgery: It is mainly used for those who are not satisfied with the effect of non-surgical treatment and those whose deformity recurs after non-surgical treatment. Specific surgical methods need to be determined according to the pathological changes, age and degree of deformity. They include: soft tissue release, bone deformity correction (not applicable to younger children), intra-articular bone deformity correction, extra-articular bone deformity correction, and muscle balance surgery. In the event of hallux valgus, it is recommended that the patient seek medical attention and be analyzed by a specialist on a case-by-case basis.
