Treatment of tendon sheath cysts of the wrist

Tendon sheath cysts of the wrist occur in the dorsal wrist and metacarpophalangeal joints of the hand. They are cystic masses formed by the tendon sheath wrapping around its internal synovial fluid, and are mainly caused by abnormal development of the tendon sheath tissues as well as excessive hand movements and injuries. The main cause is abnormal development of tendon sheath tissue and excessive movement and injury of the hand. The treatment is mainly based on surgery, which is the most effective way to remove the cyst by incising the skin and braking the excision position for about 1 week after the surgery to facilitate the recovery and reduce the possibility of recurrence. Conservative treatments, such as cystic fluid puncture or squeezing the cyst through physical methods, can cause recurrence very quickly, and it is difficult to achieve a radical cure.
