Molluscum contagiosum, also called fibroepithelial polyp or dermatome, is a kind of benign mass with a tip, commonly seen in middle-aged and elderly people, especially in menopausal women, and also in pregnancy. There are generally 3 types of molluscum contagiosum in the neck: 1) papillary molluscum contagiosum, usually solitary, clinically occurring in the neck; 2) single or multiple molluscum contagiosum, in the form of a filiform wart proliferation, soft in texture, between a few millimeters and 1 cm in size, 1-5 mm in length, with a normal skin color or light black surface; 3) single benign tumor with a tip, very soft in texture, similar to a single meatball on the skin surface, with a tip, the color is normal skin color, and the contents are mostly fat cells, without clinical symptoms such as pain and itching.
