For patients with degenerative osteoarthritis of the knee joint, which is common in the elderly, if conservative treatment (including external medication and oral medication) is not effective and there is no indication for joint replacement surgery; or if surgery is indicated but is not appropriate due to comorbidities; or if the patient refuses surgery because of questionable results, joint sodium vitreous acid injections are a frequent treatment option. However, many patients who have received sodium vitreous acid injections in the joints have not achieved the desired therapeutic effect, and the pain relief is not obvious, or the symptoms recur after a short duration of treatment. The most important reason for this is that too much attention is paid to the lubrication and repair of articular cartilage, while neglecting the elimination of synovial inflammation; only the lubrication and repair treatment based on the full elimination of inflammation can achieve the most ideal treatment effect. The correct method of injection therapy should be the sequential therapy of anti-inflammation followed by lubrication. Especially for the joint swelling and pain is obvious, or even joint effusion, or combined with peri-articular bursitis obvious cases; should first joint joint joint joint bursa injection of anti-inflammatory and analgesic solution (usually by local anesthetics combined with hormonal drugs) 1 ~ 2 times, until the pain is obviously relieved, effusion and swelling eliminated, in the regular injection of a course of vitreous acid sodium; can achieve the desired therapeutic effect.
