Can you eat moldy durian shells?

It is not recommended to eat durian shells when they are moldy.
Once the durian shell is moldy, the mold and the toxins it produces will gradually spread in the pulp. These molds are generally not visible through the naked eye because they have not developed into shape in the pulp, and if they are still consumed they will still pose a health hazard, so it is not recommended to continue to consume durian shells when they are moldy.
Spreading penicillin is a common fungal toxin in rotting and moldy durian shells, which may cause acute convulsions, congestion, edema, gastrointestinal dilatation, etc., or lead to chronic accumulation of the toxin if accidentally consumed.
The moldy toxin is very heat resistant and it is difficult to reduce the toxicity through high temperature, therefore, if you find moldy durian shells, it is not recommended to continue to consume the pulp inside.
It is usually recommended to exist the fruit in a low-temperature, dry environment or consume it in time. If you accidentally consume moldy food by mistake, you should go to the hospital in time to avoid any adverse effects.
