Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor, which is mainly used for the treatment of gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease, but also in combination with antibiotics and gastric mucosal protective agents, such as bismuth in combination with H. pylori positive patients. It is important to note here that when treating H. pylori positive patients, it is recommended to take the drug for a duration of 2-4 weeks. Other proton pump inhibitors in the same class as omeprazole are rabeprazole, pantoprazole, esomeprazole, etc. It should be noted that if you need to use clopidogrel during the use of omeprazole, especially in patients with heart stents, it is not recommended to use omeprazole, but to choose rabeprazole or lansoprazole and so on. This is because if omeprazole is chosen, it may affect the absorption of clopidogrel and make it less absorbable.
