Stenting is a routine and important means of treatment for patients with cerebral infarction, but a few patients are not suitable for stenting, mainly because the disadvantages of stenting outweigh the advantages, which should be analyzed according to the patient’s condition.
Cerebral infarction is not recommended to put a stent in the following cases: cerebral infarction lesions have been formed, stenting can not relieve the current symptoms or improve the prognosis, but also may increase the risk of bleeding.
The degree of cerebral stenosis is low and has not reached 75%, or the intracranial stenosis is located in the middle cerebral artery, anterior artery, posterior ophthalmic artery distal to the catheter can not reach; the patient’s vital signs are unstable or bleeding tendency and other contraindications to interventional therapy.
In addition, if patients with cerebral infarction have severe symptomatic stenosis of the internal carotid artery and proximal middle cerebral artery, and there are no contraindications to stenting, stenting is still recommended to prevent recurrence of cerebral infarction.
Whether stenting is suitable, the specific treatment plan should be evaluated by the doctor according to the actual situation of the patient.
