Scars, or keloid scars, cannot be completely eliminated at this time, but their appearance can be improved with a variety of treatments. The main creams that have the effect of reducing scarring are silicone gel, compound heparin sodium allantoin gel, and so on.
1. Silicone gel: the use of silicone to prevent the loss of water in the wound, to maintain wound wetting, to promote scar healing skin keratinization, conducive to the formation of new epithelial cells scabs, so that the scar healing flat, the color close to normal skin color. At present, it is the first-line drug for the treatment of postoperative scar.
2. Compound heparin sodium allantoin gel: this drug is a compound of onion extract, sodium heparin, allantoin and gel matrix. It can be used for hypertrophic scarring and keloid; scarring secondary to surgery, amputation, burns, acne and other accidents that restrict movement and affect aesthetics; tendon contracture and keloidal stenosis caused by trauma.
It is important to note that the above scar inhibiting drugs are generally most effective when used during the scar proliferation period (within 6 months after surgery) and there are individual variations in their effectiveness. If the larger and more stubborn scars affect the aesthetics or function, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for consultation and standardized treatment under the guidance of a specialist, and do not use medication on your own.
