What is the course of treatment for a perianal abscess?

The treatment process of perianal abscess mainly consists of examination and diagnosis, treatment before abscess formation, surgical treatment, rehabilitation and other stages.
1. Diagnostic examination stage: when there is symptomatic initial diagnosis or physical examination, the physician will generally find local redness and swelling or roughly determine the location of the inner opening through anal visual examination and finger diagnosis, and make preliminary diagnosis, and further do perianal ultrasound, blood test, etc. to basically make a clear diagnosis.
2. Pre-abscess formation stage: this stage is mostly missed because of the lack of obvious sensory symptoms; antibiotic treatment can be used after discovery, such as the head of trisomycin, metronidazole, levofloxacin and so on. Some patients can be cured by controlling the abscess formation, and there is a possibility of recurrence.
3. Surgical treatment stage: once the abscess is formed, incision and drainage or one-time radical surgery should be performed as soon as possible. The scope and location of abscess can be determined by color ultrasound, superficial abscess can be completed under local anesthesia, and deep location needs to be completed under lumbar anesthesia or even general anesthesia.
4. Rehabilitation stage: after the operation, change the medicine or flush the pus cavity on time, take a warm water sitz bath with potassium permanganate or iodine, eat a light diet, avoid spices, and take volumetric laxative to soften the stool to reduce the pain of defecation, and recover gradually.
Perianal abscesses need timely medical treatment to avoid serious complications, avoid blindly using their own medication.
