Appendicitis is found on one side in both men and women, independent of gender. In most people, the appendix is located in the lower right side of the abdomen, between the cecum and the ileum. Its root is attached to the posterior medial wall of the cecum, and the base is relatively fixed, while the body and the tip are free and atretic, influenced by the mesentery, etc. The range of motion and location varies greatly from person to person and can extend to any orientation of the abdominal cavity. The location of the appendix in the abdominal cavity depends on the position and morphology of the appendix, and in a few individuals it can be located in the right upper abdomen and the left lower abdomen. The relative position of the appendix in the right lower abdomen with respect to the cecum can be located in the anterior ileum, posterior cecum, internal cecum, posterior ileum, external cecum, anterior cecum, inferior cecum, and inferior ileum.
