Based on currently known virological, clinical and epidemiological information, MERS-CoV possesses some human-to-human transmission capacity, and there is no evidence yet that the virus has sustained human-to-human transmission capacity.
Interpersonal transmission is more likely when there is close contact, such as unprotected care of patients, especially when infection prevention and control measures in hospitals are inadequate. Be alert to the possibility of intra-community transmission.
